@Viss fair - things were much more unreliable 20 years ago, things were always breaking!

@Viss I think we had a timeout and automatically reissued to the next node that asked - I like my sleep! (and if an occasional scan got done twice I didn't care)

@Viss @h2onolan In the dim distant past we built a scanning system, but the nodes pulled jobs rather than having them pushed. So we didn't care (much) if a node went off line.
