A new documentary on video game collecting is coming out.
I hate to admit it—but yeah, I relate.
As much as I somewhat hate game collecting, I’m still a collector. Just last Saturday, I bought Earthworm Jim for SEGA Genesis—complete in box—for C$60.
Why did I do that? Because I remember being 13 years old, up at 11PM, eating pizza, drinking Coke, and soaking in the glow of my CRT while playing it. That memory still hits hard.
I don’t think I’m stuck in the past, though. I like to believe I’m just adding new layers—making new memories with new games on new hardware, now with my family. My upcoming reviews are about exactly that: the games that have shaped the last ten years of my life as an adult.
