@bryanredeagle @futurebird I have no objection to thicker if I can just please put my phone in my pocket

@futurebird I want my next phone to be less smart I think.
Easier to stay off it and do other things. -

@futurebird@sauropods.win Actually, the thought occurs: What if, instead of taking away our Perfectly Good Headphone Jacks, they'd removed the speakers instead?
I mean, sure, it would be occasionally inconvenient - missed calls or whatever - but imagine the benefits for everyone else. No more sodcasting on the bus. No tutting at Young People for holding their telephones as if it were a slice of toast. No wondering if Old People realise they've got it on speakerphone and we can all hear their conversation. Never having to listen to other people's computer game noise.
I expect it would be an instant hit with parents. -

@futurebird able to lie face-up on a flat surface and not fucking wobble

@futurebird I'm fine with larger if it gives more space to buttons, allows for replaceable batteries and additional storage, etc.

Like my phone? Bonus, it does lay flat without wobbling

@futurebird Thicker, so there's room for a battery that (i) holds a sensible amount of charge, (ii) doesn't need overcharging to do so, and (iii) isn't quickly worn out by over-frequent charge cycles.
Also: entirely under the control of the owner (ie the user).

Cell phone cameras should be judged by their ability to take macro selfies of ants. I want 40 megapixels of high quality ant photography for the standard. Ants have for too long put up with blurry pictures like they are from the 1800's.

I would be perfectly fine with a slightly thicker or heavier phone if it had more battery life. It's so silly that you need those power bricks, just one more thing to charge. I'm sick of charging things.
Give me eink options and fat batteries and make it last two days.

@futurebird Agree totally, especially the e-ink! Everything these days has a huge backlight to drain the battery. Sometimes reducing the battery life from a few months or more to less than a day.

@futurebird Example: I have a fairly accurate electricity consumption monitor (uses a current clamp) that will keep going for about 5 months on a pair of rechargeable AAAs. The one from my electricity company manages about 12 hours.

I feel like they've reached a good variety of sizes. There are large enough and small enough. They should just keep the variety available. -
