Don't know if I'm cool, but I am transitioning from percussion to bass. I'm just getting to the point I have confidence to play stuff other than the root notes in my little band. Mostly play acoustic bass, but I've also got an electric fretless I bought by mistake.

...Another bassist here, with colored strings. My choice of brand was Strings by Aurora, as I liked their color selection, they seemed to have strings for longer necks than the ones I found on random online shops, and their web shop service was really friendly and helpful. Managed to order mine last year just before the tariff-countertariff-things went crazy.

1974 Ovation Magnum bass in its case on the floor of the band practice room. I have it strung B-E-A-D so it gets real low and probably stimulates vibe glands or something.

Long ago, a friend told me it was ugly. I was genuinely offended.
