#pulltab@jerzone Depending on the product, those can often be precisely dated especially if it's a popular product. I love finding 80 year old beer cans and figuring out exactly when it's from

@pws I was thinking of excavating it a bit to see what brand, but it seems to have inhabitants so I let them be.

@pws Do you ever run across any old push button cans? I think Coors used them when I was a kid and ended up making a little tool to help people open it without destroying fingers.

#pulltab@jerzone funny progression and regression... Going from pull tabs to pop tops, which remain connected, to wide mouth, to pet bottles with caps, to caps with thethers...

@jerzone Haha I have a lot of photos from #LitterPicking expeditions. I used to do it every day when I lived in California. This one is from 2016 in Esther Clark Park in Palo Alto.

@m750 I'd say the current cans are just a single (bigger) button top with built in pressing tool. For bottles I'd say the most complicated is flip lid over a drinking spout.
Then there's this madness. Related, how many people wash can tops before drinking? -

@pws I think cuticles feel fear seeing that large push button hole.

I try to drink my coffee from my travel mug, and water from my bottle, but I do love a fresh bottle or can of seltzer.
