Took Alonso for his walk to the lac.

On the way back Alonso stood under a tree to rest in the shade. As we were about to walk on he came running up in a big arc and... ran smack into my stationary leg. đ„ This was quite a surprise to both of us, but Alonso tried to style it out đ€Ł
Alonso's coordination and balance aren't great it must be said. Whenever we see him standing on anything high (like the dam wall by the lac) we wonder if he should really be trusted with that much gravity...

Alonso has been thrown out of the kitchen again, and has come upstairs to see if I might intercede on his behalf.

Alonso had another sleepover so he's still here. I think his owners have been very busy.
Last night I cooked egg-fried rice and sichuan pork and let Alonso try a little bit. He likes those very much. I think he would have wolfed down an entire bowl of both if we'd let him, but he'd already eaten. He probably shouldn't be eating spicy food, but he likes to try a little bit of whatever we eat. đ

Alonso had many adventures today.
We walked him to the lac. There were some people resting with their ponies in the shade. Alonso isn't interested in horses, and stays away from cattle (having apparently been kicked by a cow once according to his owners). He ignored the ponies, sniffed the people and continued with us.

There are a few houses we pass on the way back from the lac. Alonso goes through a little routine with each, and this is generally fine.
The first is a cabin set back from the road in some trees. This has no fence. Alonso sometimes rests in the shade here waiting for us to catch up, or goes for a sniff and then catches up with us.
So we continued on...

The next house has a dog-proof fence around it, because the previous owners had some (lovely) dogs we used to talk to. It has an electric gate that is usually shut (thankfully), otherwise we have to persuade Alonso not to go inside. I had to chase him out of there a couple of weeks ago. He thought it a wonderful game.
Today, the gate was shut, so we continued on...

I tried in vain to suggest he go out the way he came in, but you'll be surprised to learn this didn't help...

Alonso popped by for a late afternoon/evening visit.
I'm making goat curry (karahi gosht). Alonso was very interested and wanted to help.
When his owner came to collect him she said she thinks he likes coming here a little too much... đ

@beach I don't want to give you any advice, but I can tell you what I do. I buy books in EPUB format (I avoid proprietary formats, preferring DRM-free ones), read them through Calibre (that's why I just say "I prefer" it, it doesn't matter), and then I do what I want with them (I usually read them on my iPad).
