Hey #rsync experts! I have a dilemma. I do a daily backup to an external disk, but some of the files (VM containers) are HUGE (100GB), and because they are zero-padded, their size is always the same. By the time the rsync for these files finishes, they have wildly different mod dates from the originals on my HDD. I can set --modify-wiindow to $BIGNUM, but then all the regular files *don't* back up.
Maybe the answer is to touch all the big files (originals and backup) at the end of the rsync?

@pluralistic excluding these big files and setting up a separate run of your backup script with them is (not) an option?

@pluralistic I am not an expert, and I personally hate it when I ask a question and people answer a different question, BUT I'm going to do that anyway:
Could you mount the VM container image(s) on source and destination and rsync their filesystems separately?

@dunning_kruger @prealpinux @spettacoli Non si tratta di non pagare gli autori: semplicemente non è necessario sottoscrivere abbonamenti a questi intermediari. Esistono moltissimi altri modi legali per ascoltare musica o guardare film e serie TV.
Stremio ad esempio ti permette di sapere dove vedere un film fra le piattaforme in streaming.

Accompagno mio figlio a scuola, in piscina etc. e provo lo stesso malessere, la stessa ansia dei miei sei anni mentre mi accompagnavano a scuola, in piscina, etc.
Per fortuna lui no, sembra fare tutto con estremo piacere. Su questa cosa ho lavorato da subito insieme lui e penso si veda.
Ma sento che è arrivato il momento di lavorare su di me. Non descriverei la mia infanzia particolarmente problematica ma ora da padre vedo delle cose che evidentemente hanno lasciato dei solchi profondi sulla mia personalità, mettendole meglio a fuoco.
Sto affrontando emotivamente (ed economicamente) altri discorsi paralleli per cui al momento inizierei con la cosa più semplice e meno imprgnstiva. Qualcuno sa se esiste un testo di avvicinamento all'argomento?
