@yora the sound it makes started out as something written "zz", the ß ligature is sometimes a "sz" (ſz) or an "ss" (ſs) ligature as hundreds of years ago the sound would sometimes be spelled sz or ss depending on its position in the word. it depends on the region of germany whether it's being taught as "eszett" or "scharf-s" to children @eniko @oblomov
