@phnt Thanks! I did know about this - however, they disallow fetching nodeinfo via robots.txt if the instance is configured to make up stats - and allow it if the instance is returning real stats:https://codeberg.org/superseriousbusiness/gotosocial/src/commit/c74c5b74049bf9530a4c3fa5ba99c63fdd85d178/internal/api/robots/robots.go#L34My bot does obey robots.txt so it should avoid fetching nodeinfo if it's configured to lie.The specific code linked above landed about 10 months ago:https://codeberg.org/superseriousbusiness/gotosocial/pulls/3737This should be in versions 0.18 and later. It's *possible* the behavior is older than that, but I'd need to learn their codebase well enough to dig back in the history....

HI @nighthawk, Surf is an app (currently in beta) that allows you to create topical feeds that include social posts (fediverse, Bluesky, Threads) and RSS, podcasts, YouTube and Flipboard Magazines. You can create an account and log in with your Mastodon or Bluesky handle, and then interact with posts on either platform directly from Surf. If you decide to sign up for the beta, do let us know the email address you used, and we'll try and get you right in!

That would mean the server would need to support every API for each software. Not impossible but opens you up to breaking changes if the APIs change out from under you. Also some people don't use apps, just a browser  that's why logging in via other accounts has some appeal.
