Accenture are firing people who don't use Copilot enough.

@GossiTheDog
I love how they jump into every tech fad with both feet and no critical reflection. -

>We are investing in upskilling our reinventors...
That sentence made my eye twitch and throw up in my mouth a little.

"We are investing in upskilling our reinventors, which is our primary strategy. We are exiting on a compressed timeline, people where reskilling, based on our experience, is not a viable path for the skills we need."
Well...what...?
@ckd @GossiTheDog I suppose it kind of tracks that people who write like that would think passing off AI slop as work would be good.
-
@GossiTheDog IMO, this is a great time to make co-pilot write you a script to run co-pilot, then you can call it "agentic".
@mayintoronto @GossiTheDog oh! Let copilot use copilot, while you get on with the work? Ace your "performance" review *and* produce something carefully crafted, that you can be proud of?
If it were not for the plagiariam and ecocide involved, I'd heartily endorse this!
My stance is: mandated AI usage, tied to performance evaluation, is an assault on worker dignity.

AI is just the excuse — Accenture was laying people off furiously throughout 2025, because it’s having problems selling consulting
"People aren't buying our crappy AI consultancy... so let's push our AI consultancy more!"
@Cyberoutsider @GossiTheDog my company told us yesterday that no-one gets a pay rise (again!)... not even us overperforming engineers, because - wait for it - their stupid bet on stupid AI consultancy turned out to be a money pit just like we all said it would be.

@GossiTheDog Anyone know why the company whose counselling turns out just to be AI slop that you might as well slurp straight from the trough for a few bucks a month, has "trouble selling counselling"?

@GossiTheDog friend of mine was told last month that "manual" coding was no longer allowed. Everything must be done through Claude Code.

Ugh. What a clown show. They simply want to fire people and blame it on AI. Are they modeling this behavior to their clients to copy? That wouldn’t be necessary, the big companies who use consultants already know this cheap little trick.

@GossiTheDog Why would you need Accenture to be an AI-chatbot front end. Couldn't people just use the AI chatbot and cut out the middleman?
-
@GossiTheDog Yet another glorious development of Arthur Andersen🍿
@agturcz @GossiTheDog this is one of those,“ if you know, you know” posts, so obligatory: fuck Arthur Andersen

@stinerman @GossiTheDog and this is how you know “AI” is labor spyware meant to work as a digital shackle controlling and monitoring workers’ every move.

Well...what...?
@ckd @GossiTheDog That sounds so much like a movie villain when the scriptwriters wanted to make the character sound like a cartoonish mustache-twirling sweatshop owner.

@adavid @StealthyTango @GossiTheDog What do you expect from the company formerly known as Arthur Andersen?

@GossiTheDog My employer is pursuing similar measures. Currently if we don't use LLM tools at least 4x weekly, we go on the naughty list.
No real disciplinary consequences *yet* but that's only ever a matter of time.

@GossiTheDog Could you use one LLM to keep prompting another one to make it look like you're onboard? Might save your job, but still sets the planet on fire.

@GossiTheDog so they are forcing the people to teach the AI to do their job.
I'm curious whether that can work. -
