@briankrebs I think we can be sure the mandatory CBP app for the application won't be trustable either and could well be backdooring your device.
Canada needs to apply the same rule to every truck crossing the border, especially to/from Alaska and searching each one for fentanyl or russian contraband.

For those saying, "Just don't travel to the US", there people like my relatives that must to travel to the US for work. They have no choice.
It's my hope that their head office helps them by not requiring them to travel there. -

The former USA = North Korea on steroids -
I feel for anyone in the travel, tourism and hospitality industries, which make up ~ 10M jobs and ~ 3 percent of the nation's GDP. From the U.S. International Trade Administration (trade.gov)
"Inbound international travel to the United States plays a vital role in the Nationâs economy and promotes cultural exchange and understanding. Travel and tourism is the largest single services export for the United States, accounting for 22 percent of the countryâs services exports and 7 percent of all exports in 2023. The travel and tourism industry contributed $2.3 trillion to the U.S. economy in 2022 (2.97 percent of the countryâs GDP), supporting 9.5 million jobs."

@auxonic @johnefrancis @briankrebs I have a secret security clearance and the process was SO much less invasive than that. So ridiculous
@stephanie @auxonic @johnefrancis @briankrebs guess that means no US travel for me then.
Edit: to clarify, I mean again, ever, given I've never seen em walk back any of these controls.
