is there a macOS application that can do basic audio routing/mixing? e.g., mix these inputs and send the audio to this output, then send this other input to a different output. something like Cantabile (for Windows), if anyone knows that.
at the moment i use Logic to do this, but it's rather overkill for something this basic.

@lw I’ve had the most success with a combo of Audio Hijack, Loopback and SoundSource from https://rogueamoeba.com/

@oxyhyxo thanks! Loopback looks like it does exactly what i want, and they have a free trial.

@lw @oxyhyxo if your needs are relatively simple you can possibly accomplish this with the midi configuration in MacOS and soundflower (the midi config lets you make custom devices of multiple audio input/output)

https://github.com/mattingalls/Soundflowerseems like that doesn't support ARM Macs (according to GitHub)? :-(
i already use Audio MIDI Setup.app to create a virtual device, the problem is some applications (like Discord) get confused by having 20 inputs and outputs, so i like to expose a virtual stereo device for them. at the moment i use VB-Cable for that, but Loopback seems more flexible since it can create infinite virtual devices, not just one.

@lw there’s something from Rogue Amoeba that does what you need but I forget which one.

@lw try Loopback (rogue ameba)

@lw I use GarageBand for most of this. Although GB only takes one input device, that device can have multiple sources, or can be an aggregate created in Audio Midi Setup.
A nice alternative is SoundDesk, available in the App Store.
