@SteveBellovin without looking it up, I'm gonna guess that that's accidental; but it also wouldn't surprise me if they named it that as a memento; or to drown future leakers 😛

@eigen @SteveBellovin the actual answer is there’s all sorts of stuff around Columbia MD named Snowden after a plantation family (so, as per usual in the US, the answer is “racism”)

@TindrasGrove @eigen Thanks. I see it's on the grounds of the Patuxent Wildlife Research Center, which is actually what I was looking at when I happened to notice Snowden Pond.
