If the past decade has taught me anything, it's that all of these systems that we're assured are tough as nails, with modern defenses, and are extremely well maintained is all bullshit, and the reality is that it is a cobweb-delicate mesh of shit that could be knocked over at a moment's notice.

@da_667 Maybe this is a me thing; but I can totally understand the appeal of believing that the problem must be on a whole other level; lest the suspicion that it's really just on the level of one's own competence brought to bear with more stamina and patience grow too loud.
Technical equivalent of finding the idea that some people are total saints more comforting than considering that perhaps it's a matter of fairly ordinary decency, just applied relentlessly.
