I promised to share a little process overview of how I build compositions. I am right now working on a commission piece that requires lots of details. I am not done with it yet, but maybe I can share some steps below while I progress if anyone is curious. So far, I spent almost 19 hours working on the sketch and I estimate it to take around 55 hours. I’ll share more screenshots in the comments.

I started coloring the background details first before moving onto smaller details. I was planning to use a less colorful palette for this piece at first but decided to stick to a pastel palette instead. I normally just use about 4 brushes in all my art. Just a basic studio pen brush for line art, a texture brush for the splatter effect to ‘age’ the walls and spray paint for color gradients. This piece is made with CMYK color palette which I normally wouldn’t use for my personal pieces.

@anyachalina Thanks for sharing the process ! :)
When you drew the fence, you only drew half of it and then copy the other half of it, right ?
I suppose that sometimes you do it with buildings but I've noticed that sometimes they're not absolutely symetrical. :)

@sgtpepere yes, you are right. If i want to use the same element but in a different place, I will copy it and place where i need it to be and add other details to it to adjust the design.

@anyachalina That's reassuring. Else, it would be a titan's work. And your work is already impressive as is. :)

@sgtpepere thank you! ❤️ I have deadlines for projects and if I can use the arch I already drew with my own hands one more time in the same piece to save a few minutes, I'll gladly use it. I'm a freelance artist and every month I have to finish at least 3-4 pieces to make a modest living. If I'm lucky, I can license them or maybe it's a commission. Sometimes I make zero from some pieces or there's a month without any commission, then I just have to start a new piece and try again.

@sgtpepere I hope my explanation wasn't too excessive, I'm sorry if it was. Also don't want to sounds ungrateful, I actually feel very lucky that I can do what I love the most for living. And thank you again for your kind words!
