Good morning Fedi friends!
Sorry if I've been quiet over here, but I've been busy preparing my presentation for @berlinfediday, writing blog posts and also prepping for podcast and radio interviews. It's been a really busy month 😅
My little FOSS win of the day is convincing my husband to open up an account on @wallabag as Pocket is closing down. He had selected a centralized read-it-later service but I insisted: "if a FOSS alternative exists, go for it" so he did 🥳
Now dashing off to rehearse my #BerlinFediDay presentation that needs to be 12 minutes or less. A challenge since I could talk about the Fediverse and my love for it for HOURS.

by the way on Tuesday I gave you a shout-out during my radio interview about my Fediverse journey... because as it turns out I discovered (by looking back at my files from Oct 2022) that you were the first account I ever followed on the Fediverse... and it's thanks to you that I first heard about Mastodon. I owe you BIG TIME -

@enki_2931 Pensa che io ho tagliato tutto per non finanziare grosse corporations americane (anche Sky). E dunque ormai posso guardare solo lo sport in chiaro. E qualche film ogni tanto.
Per la sport la goccia che ha fatto traboccare il vaso è che adesso per seguire il calcio devi avere un abbonamento per il campionato, uno per le coppe, il canale per il tennis, F1 ecc.Che andasero a quel paese.... Se mi interessa una partita vado al pub. Preferisco finanziare un'attività italiana.

nessuna organizzazione politica e sindacale oggi in Italia è in grado di mobilitare una massa di persone come quella che ha scioperato e scesa in piazza in questi giorni. già questo dovrebbe farci riflettere e permetterci di distinguere le motivazioni che hanno portato giovani e meno giovani a partecipare a queste proteste dalle posizioni politiche specifiche delle organizzazioni che le stanno guidando. pensi davvero che la stragrande maggioranza delle persone scese in piazza oggi condivida la piattaforma politica dell'USB sulla Palestina? Manco la conoscono! C'è bisogno di fare della facile ironia su due ragazzinə per capire qual è il significato politico generale di queste manifestazioni di massa?

@tal I personally find the reading time, useful in order to optimize my reading routine.
If I need an information included in a very long content then, I try to summarize it through a LLM model then go in-deep later. Understand me, if transports change their timetable I need to know the morning routes, not that the railway station is blocked due to the [random event]. If I want to know about the event I go elsewhere.
