Two lessons to be (re-)learned here:
1. Artistic labour is economically productive, it's not a luxury for the rich.
2. Socialist policies are profitable for society as a whole (this is heresy against neoliberalism, but neoliberalism/rational choice theory is based on falsified beliefs about human behaviour).
Hopefully these are signs of the pendulum swinging back towards a less dog-eat-dog world.

@jkanev They didn't go wrong so much as they were systematically undermined and looted: it was murder, not suicide or senescence.
