The "Solo Savior" narrative coming from Trump regarding WWII is exhausting.
He completely erases the heroism of the British (🇬🇧 🇨🇦 🇦🇺 🇳🇿 🇮🇳 🇿🇦), who stood alone in the darkest hour. They paid an unimaginable price in blood to hold the line long before the US decided to enter the fray. Churchill didn't negotiate; he endured so that freedom could survive.
It is deeply tragic how quickly the US is transforming into a volatile and contemptuous rogue state.

Fair point. For me, 'British' in this context inherently includes the Empire and Commonwealth forces as they stood as one entity.

Fair point. For me, 'British' in this context inherently includes the Empire and Commonwealth forces as they stood as one entity.
But you are absolutely right to make it explicit for the record—their contribution was indispensable.And #WW1. The beautifully manicured Indian and Chinese cemetaries on the western front are a reminder that war is a complex intermix of peoples.
But most poignant of all are the German cemetaries where about 1 in 10 gravestones bear the Star of David. Jews who gave their lives for the Fatherland. A land that rewarded their families with extermination within a generation.

Everyone who fought the Nazis was heroic, not just the UK. I'd say the UK had it better overall - home was out of Nazi reach aside from the blitzed cities, only Jersey was ever occupied but of course ships were torpedoed & millions killed in battle, air force almost destroyed.
But our women weren't raped in their millions, people weren't starved & imprisoned, our land wasn't destroyed.
Churchill was the right asshole in the right place at the right time, luckily.

The sickening lies told about our son by the administration are reprehensible and disgusting. Alex is clearly not holding a gun when attacked by Trump's murdering and cowardly ICE thugs. He had his phone in his right hand and his empty left hand is raised above his head while trying to protect the woman ICE just pushed down, all while being pepper sprayed.

What I’m saying… who am I to impose my political preferences as a citizen of country A to people in country B that I don’t live with and don’t know their current needs‽
Let’s say… the hypothetical where I live, we decide to that mastering multiple languages (A and B) is a requirement to get your secondary education diploma. But in country B, such a suggestion would be seen as an attack against said country.

Conversely, unlike some countries, emigrants shouldn't have to pay taxes on income not earned in their former country.
They regain the right on return.
And for the same reason, immigrants¹ who have established themselves somewhere—job, home,… —should be allowed to vote after at most 5 years.
Disclosure: I emigrated from England and never voted there since.
