@blogdiva Eh, while it is very true USAID did a lot of good, it is also true that it was also a more adept and subtle way of doing this exact thing. USAID was a CIA front from the jump. They used it to stage a vaccination campaign in rural Pakistan to find Bin Lades's hideout, then bragged about it in the NYT. Good thing nobody distrusts anyone giving out free vaccines, oh wait...

And here's the thing: this is exactly where these asshats show their (criminal) foolishness: they think they can get more and pay less by using violence instead. Their inflated sense of superiority and their contempt for the poor, at every level (from the personal to the geological), will be their undoing.
