@HennaVirkkunen Great step... BUT... We should also stop lending any hint of legitimacy to X by having governments and official bodies communicate using this platform. Also given current events it's the prudent move to improve European digital sovereignty.

I don't agree with X's hive, but please do not advocate for banning something based on "values". That is censorship.
Ban it based on laws, if applicable.
It would be great if EU maintained Rule of Law, unlike our friends across the pond.

@HennaVirkkunen this will only be meaningful if every politician, political party, and Governmental Department move off Twitter/X to a European owned and hosted solution. The tacit support of using the platform for official channels has to stop.

@HennaVirkkunen I strongly welcome this decision. As I find this issue very pressing, i would like to know:
1. When will you make a decision about interim measures? I find it unacceptable to have this kind a crime committed and could imagine a temporary ban of the delinquent service beeing a great measure to mitigate harm done to the eu and its citizens.
2. when will there be a decision about non-compliance ? The investigation has been going on for over 2 years now and fines do not seem to help.Agreed and adding the following:
3—How many people are on the cases? It appears the EU is by no means interested to swiftly and effectively deal with the number of DSA violations.
4—The embarrassingly low amounts of fines the EU has exercised so far is an act of cowardice.
5—The Commission pushing forcefully for our mass surveillance + sucking up to the fascistic Trump terror regime + the enemies of European democracy from the Silicon Valley is unacceptable. -

But there is no level playing field dealing with dangerous Maniacs as Musky when they weaponize their Platforms ind the mind of MAGA against EU. But maybe you have some better ideas to fight back and protect our values?

@strigga_ @HennaVirkkunen at the end of the day most people just don't care and go there because that's where the user base is. Its why I stream across multiple platforms including X unfortunately so until the userbase for my audience leaves (football club) I'm stuck on the platform.

@HennaVirkkunen Great. Good Job. But why so late? This is honest question. Why it took a MONTH.
@jarekrozanski @HennaVirkkunen The Commission is a huge bureaucracy tied up by complex procedures, not a handful of people in a room making decisions on a whim. They will want to produce a bunch of internal documents and build the case before they initiate anything formally, and they will want to do it right.
A month is not a long time in this context, it's blazingly fast.
