Season 3, Callie immediately falls to Projects.

The professional boat builder has gone beyond Projects. He is building a Contraption.
It is a boat with a propeller to carry a duck trap out into the lake.
The duck trap contraption somehow caught a fish.

It's so weird that so many of these folks fail because they just get bored with fishing being slow. It's the only way Britt has gotten any protein, and yet, when he didn't catch any fish for a couple days, he went all in on snares. Same with Greg, who wasted days trying to trap a fox!? What are you gonna do with a fox?
You never caught a single rabbit/fox/boar, but that's what you're spending time on? Ah, yep, I predicted right about Britt. Tough guy needs to be in control.

Patience and being OK with boredom is going to be the winning trait this season, I think.

Boat! It's over for Greg, he just doesn't know it yet.

Carleigh decided to sleep on the beach even after seeing the puma looking at her!? She's not making good decisions.

Where do you reckon you're going to go on that raft, Greg? What do you think is different about the other side?

Also, this season might not be for me. I'm OK seeing people kill fish, and even mice, for food, but less comfortable with higher animals being killed. Seems like we're going to see some large mammals being hunted this season.
@swelljoe
History channel website has additional video like the prep and camera training they get before being dropped. But you can’t really go to the website unless you’ve finished the season and directly go to a specific season (use search engine) because spoilers. They assume you already watched it and kept up. -

Callie, I believed in you. I really thought you were gonna be the one. But, a sweat lodge and wind chimes has told me this cannot end well.

Callie is a land of contrasts. On one hand, she's seemingly really good at the living off the land stuff. A bunch of recluse bites barely slowed her down. On the other hand, she is utterly consumed by Projects.
At least she hasn't built a boat.

Boat indicator undefeated. Of course Greg went home. The path was set the moment he heeded the call of the sea.

I guess I needn't have worried about anyone killing larger mammals this season. No one knows how to catch anything other than fish, but they're going to keep trying. Fewer boats this season, but there are many Projects.

Projects never lie. Callie is out. She was my favorite, but I knew she wouldn't make it. Defeated by Projects, as so many before her have been.
Fowler seems to be hanging in there, but he has more Projects than anyone, so I know it can't last.

You're looking very McCandless, there, Dave.

@swelljoe was a bummer to see Callie go. Her reason of leaving because her “personal journey was over” is also BS. But I guess you need to lie to yourself sometimes? What a waste.

@bryan they all say that. I was disappointed she was like all the others before her. Projects never lie, but I really was pulling for her. She was just really sweet and enthusiastic and in a lot of ways was really well-equipped for the situation. But, Projects.
I assume she ran out of food, because her primary project was not "finding and preserving food for winter", and was instead: chair, wind chimes, pretty house, sweat lodge (WTF is up with these hippies and their sweat lodges!?), etc.

Everyone thinks they are a special snowflake that doesn’t need to do basics: get food, eat food, sleep, and finally don’t get lonely. Think of it as a 2-3 month fishing trip where you will lose all your weight. AKA fishing trip with a large dose of starvation. -

I was wondering if they'd simply let someone starve themselves to death, and it seems the answer is no. Dave's been starving himself, living on 200 calories a day, while still having dried fish? I don't understand this math. Man was passing out and falling down, and didn't think to increase the daily rations? He prepared better than anyone, it seems...but, then stopped eating anyway.
