One of my dogs always carefully buries his rawhide chew in the same handful of spots. He really pokes the dirt and leaves down over top of it, making sure it's thoroughly hidden, and walks away with a satisfied air about him. And, he is always dismayed when one of the other dogs immediately finds and takes it. They check all those spots, if they know there's a chew in circulation.
