D&D admits two categories of atheists: conspiracy theorists and anti-deists
The former claims the gods are made up by people, and the overwhelming evidence for them is a mix of lies and advanced illusions. They’re like moon-landing deniers.
The latter admits there are very powerful beings, but they aren’t gods and shouldn’t be worshipped or obeyed.
