@cjk I hate to split hairs here but I think it's important to clarify that he's not talking about us.

There are two main critics of AI: those who hate AI for the real harms it's inflicting on real people right now and those who are worried about some mythical rogue superintelligence hellbent on enslaving or eliminating humanity. He's not talking about us in the first group, he's talking about the second group, the delusional set of AI True Believers that see the science fiction version of AI as an existential threat (Skynet, AM, the Matrix).

When he says "we've done a lot of damage...", he's talking about the AI True Believers, borh the "good" ones like himself and the "bad" ones that keep bringing up hypothetical Skynet-level risks. He's still shrugging off our criticisms - job loss, theft, environmental cost, economic risk of a bubble, psychosis, CSAM, misinformation, denial of consent, further concentration of wealth, and every other real harm or risk that is occuring right now.

That said, I'm happy that someone is making Huang all upset, even if it's because they like Magneto more than Iron Man. Billionaires who believe comic books are real are stupid and deserve all the misery we can heap on them.

@cjk The hurt actually should be on monsters who invest in AI more than AI itself.

Aka, billionaires and their selfish hoarding of endless money just to feel better about their miserable selves.

They aren't happy which is why they hoard money. I have said this before of course, but they just want to feed those fragile egos of theirs.

If this is how they do it, they deserve the pain they get. I would change my mind on this if they repented, but rich people have a really hard time doing that.
