https://mastodon.social/@livelakehuron/115576415828298149this was my exercise for tonight, which is to say it was an exercise in practicing drawing from observation (my only goal was to get the colors and the general vibe close, and otherwise get as close of a likeness as I can in roughly an hour or less), but also it was exercise in that I put my cintiq on a standing desk that was raised all the way up and grooved out to drum and bass music through the entire drawing session. the painting serves no other purpose but i hope you enjoy it anyway

this must be so alien to the "ai art" cultists. what would the prompt even be? "take this gorgeous photograph and make a best attempt at copying it even though the original is already a perfect likeness also hey go do some cardio and listen to some music for me while you're at it" lol

if you are so inclined, i highly recommend doing your own "drawing and bass" night. my abs are now pleasantly sore and I feel spiritually refreshed.

@withaveeay I have fond memories of Coherent, which made me grok Unix.
I got it in Italy by mail order and installed it on a 386 laptop with 2 MB RAM and a 40 MB hard disk, half for Coherent and the rest for DR-DOS which shipped with the machine. Coherent was fantastic, for fun I even used my Amiga 500 as a serial terminal connected to the laptop via RS-232.

@francina1909 pur essendo amante delle opere d'arte e in particolare della pittura, ammetto che non conoscevo il quadro (salvato da google lens), bellissimo sia dal punto di vista dei colori che della dinamica che della prospettiva. azzeccatissimo l'accostamento con l'episodio attuale.

@Bastacosi invitare una famiglia con reddito inferiore a 30000€ a frequentare scuole private è una operazione di ingegneria sociale sottile. Implica un codice che governa e struttura i rapporti sociali invitando le persone a posizionarsi nella scala valoriale il cui senso e significato è artificialmente dato. Le persone cessano di essere degli umani in relazione agli altri e al mondo per diventare segni da elaborare in un codice dato. Perché mai dovrei preferire una scuola privata alla pubblica?
