@aeva I don’t read it as optimism but as a threat — either capitalism ends voluntarily, or the ensuing climate catastrophe ends humanity and capitalism with it.

@aeva@mastodon.gamedev.place I think it's a reference to the fact that later eras of empires, such as Ancient Rome, Qing Dynasty China, and Egypt's 20th Dynasty, were utter shit to live in with leaders who do nothing and jack off while people are starving and shit's about to hit the fan
