I feel like anyone who is on the Fediverse has deliberately decided to opt out of many other attention economies due to awareness of exploitative algorithms and such.

@aeva I remember it was pouring with rain outside, but one of my cats really needed a pee, so they stood beside the cat-flap and you could see their little brain dreading having to go outside.
The other cat watched them thinking about going into the rain, and then shook their back leg like it was wet - just thinking about it caused a reaction. I've never seen such a clear sign of empathy in a cat!

@sheepnik A miniature sombrero manifested itself in my house (probably one of my offspring brought it in) and I've mostly been trying to convince the cats to wear it. Now I need a dino like yours, I think!
