going to start a separate lighting thread for #EniBlockGame so atm i'm using a similar floodfill approach as minecraft, although i'm also propagating light along diagonals. this is a bit better (on a flat surface the pattern is octagonal not a diamond) but idk, i'm not really feeling itthe interesting thing about minecraft is that it doesn't actually light surfaces, it lights *the air* and tbh i'm starting to question whether this is the right approach
