also just personal anecdata, not generalizing, everyone's different:
with an anxiety disorder plus adhd, the anxiety makes you perform too, in sprints, using your own adrenaline (it's kinda shit though and you burn out after a few decades because you're always running on dread ... I know from a good friend)
and expectations to perform consistently (instead of in bursts) still put you into a shame spiral
so meds are a good thing

@aeva @mmby @hipsterelectron i would be the last one to say drugs are bad. but i wonder about the greater picture.
for example, i know someone who's very anxious. they also have a heart insufficiency. it is obvious that the anxious tuning has co-developed to keep the heart pumping strong enough. it's a fix. you make this person relax, and you technically impact their vascular health negatively.
