My wife and I use Conversations to chat, connected to an xmpp server that I'm running. I don't have any other contacts on there, but I did a few years ago.

I use whatsapp for a few people because it's popular in this country (Georgia), although I'd rather not use it. I have Molly (which is a Signal client), but only a few of my contacts are on there, but never message any of them.

I'm probably an outlier in multiple ways; the apps I use plus I never message much except for with my wife.

@Edent Lucy Cooke also covers menopause but in less detail in her interesting and entertaining book "Bitch: On the Female of the Species". The book is about animals not humans (mostly) but has lots of interesting insights.

For example, menopause, to which author Cooke devoted an entire chapter. Did you know only five mammal species are known to exhibit this -- humans and four species of whales that hunt in packs? Lucy has a theory why this pattern was favoured by evolution but even if it's wrong, it's still interesting.
