@harri @noodlemaz I’m not suggesting they are equal. But I’d argue strongly that morally they are equivalent. Tech bro, extreme right wing run. Both are closing Palestinian accounts right now for eg and censoring liberal voices. So morally identical if technically being shit in different ways.
@JimmyB @harri @noodlemaz Zuckerberg has certainly done a lot of bad through his companies but I don't think he is as extreme right-wing as Musk. You didn't see him campaign for the fascist in the White House, run an illegal operation aimed at purging federal institutions inside the administration, shape policies like offering asylum to white South Africans or actively propping up AfD in Germany etc.

I wish @plaidcymru would do this - they do have a profile here, but that dates back to November 2022 (when the Welsh Mastodon server was briefly in the media's eye here) and they haven't posted since a fortnight after they joined. Not even cross-posting from other platforms, which would cost them nothing, presumably.
But then @ZackPolanski is no better - and yes, I know he's not your leader!

@JimmyB @noodlemaz don’t be so harsh. Yes we probably should have jumped some time ago as many of us wanted to. But we’re a small volunteer led democratic party with a lot of other things to attend to. And our local press were still there and potentially people who needed to hear our messaging. We’ve mostly been cross-posting with very little engagement so it was not a priority item until the latest outrage.

@greenpartyni Fight to have ban from your country, all European nations should do the same. This is not about infringing free speech, it's about dealing with a cancer that is destroying societies with misinformation and propaganda to suit the agenda of a tech billionaire.

@nic @plaidcymru @ZackPolanski thank you. I started this account when I volunteered to manage our social media. We have 10 different accounts to attend to. Plus figuring out what to post when and where! And making videos. And planning ahead. Really it’s a full time job! 🤣
