@Edent what's so bad about <div> ... or: Why do you want to avoid them?

@Edent did you see the untappd API is going commercial-use-only ?
Your existing tokens may randomly stop working :-(
Disappointed in #untappd as was about to use your code to cross post herehttps://untappd.com/api/register
"we are no longer making API access available without a commercial agreement.
...
Please note that existing API tokens may no longer continue to work as we enforce these new policies. "@falken they've had that message there for several years, I think.
If you pay for their premium membership you can get a JSON export.
Or, you can just screen scrape your data.

@Edent
thanks for the hint: Works perfect!Btw.: there is still one german newspaper running a gopher server :-) @tazgetroete

Oh I love that !
A new exercice ! Absolutely needed on my website !
I will probably reuse my gemini-capsule output code for that !Edit: Done https://villepreux.net/about/?format=txt
Seems to be working.
With ?format=text on all URLs
(ie. https://villepreux.net/about/?format=txt)Would text/gemini content-type be acceptable to be on your list ;-) or is text/plain required ?
-
@Edent Very salient points.

@eythian please do!

@villapirorum that's very cool! I don't know anything about Gemini. Do you have a link I could try?

Thanks !
The equivalent gemini capsule page of the link in my previous post (https://villepreux.net/about/?format=txt) can be found here : gemini://unbon.cafe/villapirorum/about
But you'll need a client/browser suporting it (I'm using Lagrange : https://gmi.skyjake.fi/lagrange)If you're interested by the gemini protocol : https://geminiprotocol.net
Edit: Lagrange is available on Android and supports Gopher

@Edent You're the best blogger for now and forevermore. Cheers to the cheeky Craig White mention at the end... And to 2026 as well!

@Edent whoop whoop! Next round the world trip already paid for!
(That's how that new fangled currency thing works, right? The more zeros the better?)

@Edent Adnams do Ghost Ship crisps. They seem to be mainly available in farm shops and garden centres

@denny this time next year, Rodney!

@Edent Over the holidays in Canada I saw a few people controlling what looked like heated socks from their phones. So that's definitely around.
Interesting that the office robot was supposed to be from the now defunct iRobot.
Fun list to work through with hindsight.

@Edent PerlBod and I had some fried egg crisps over Christmas, and some prosecco flavoured ones. The former were surprisingly OK, the latter absolutely ghastly.
