@dangillmor This eventuality is exactly why I researched and purchased a Eufy instead of Ring. Eufy records locally, not the cloud, on a continuous loop that overwrites itself about every 90 days.

@dangillmor thanks for sharing! I thought I was the only one who was scared about this ad. Combined with Tesla camera surveillance this is a wonderful toolset for any authoritarian government.

@dangillmor Dammit! Why does society choose to walk into these things all the time?
We could've easily avoided all of this if we choose to just reject this, but that's only possible if we choose to.

@PamelaBarroway @dangillmor Smart move! In fact, we need to go back to the days where everything was stored locally as oppose to depending on companies to collect, store our data for exploitation.
Just keep things safe and simple. That and it will also cut down on all the electricity that gets wasted too.

Our son (at 14) had a radio show on a local station that shared international music. Everything from Mongolia to Senegal to Peru. It was wonderful and it never occurred to us that others required their own language to appreciate music. Our son is now close to graduating with an Honours degree in music and collaborates with artists across the world. I know who is missing out in this debate and it isn't folks like him.
