Proton Drive doesn't offer Linux support, though. Not sure if Tuta will either, it's not stated as far as I can tell. But at least I hope they don't over-promise as Proton has been doing for years.
A currently available non-US, excellent service is @filen which offers a great Linux client.
@fruitcakesareyum my comment was kind of joke, because "Proton" is a word that Tuta never uses π Proton products also (almost?) never appear in Tuta alternatives list.
About filen - totally agree. I'm still testing them on free plan, but will switch to paid soon.

I know, but I wanted to share a bit of info and nudge Tuta about Linux support. π
It would be weird if Proton or Tuta promoted each other. Most companies never do. If they show competitors, it's usually on a table basically saying "this is why the others suck and we rule!"
I've been using Filen for a year and they've been very good. I think they only had a minor hiccup recently, but as I'm on the other side of the planet, I was asleep during the troubles.

Presumably one can roll one's own end-to-end encryption using rclone, just as one can with (more or less) any cloud storage provider.

@Tutanota will it be possible to buy lifetime storage with tuta drive?
Because at the moment I use Filen where I got 200gb lifetime, and personally just prefer lifetime instead of monthly payments

@Tutanota I can recommend Koofr. They're from Slovenia, open source and end to end encrypted. They offer a free plan to begin with. A F Droid Client is also there βΊοΈ

@Tutanota What would really help is a tool for seamlessly migrating Gmail and Google Drive data to Tuta. I'd be willing to pay for such a tool.
