@GoatsLive if Android is making you sick, you shouldn't even consider Linux phones xD

@manawyrm I run Linux all day on 14 different computers and servers. I know it well, and am sick of google getting all my data.

@GoatsLive I live with an old nokia dumbphone and a #pinephone: it's feasible, but it's an interesting life :D
what I wrote in 2023 is mostly still valid (the issue with the phone forgetting about the existence of a modem have been fixed)

but feel free to ask me if there is something else I didn't mention and you would like to know

@GoatsLive Yes, same. But Linux phones are just a joke for hobbyists and tinkerers. You really wouldn't want to use them for anything real.
Graphene might be an option.
I switched to an iPhone, but eh... well, that has it's own problems and I'm not entirely sure if it's better or just different pain (but at least Google is getting less of my data now). -

you need to be a tinkerer, and be ready to accept some *significant* limitations, but there are workarounds
edit: I don't mean that they are *easy* workarounds, you need to be a tinkerer *and* to be motivated, and there will be some pain. but it can be done
