@Viss there are quite a few live aboards. Most slips on my dock. The three boats next to me were all owned by flight attendants that stayed on them when working.
They do have a certain percentage they have to stay under and a size requirement for the boat.

@thomasareed for san diego this is "uncomfortably cold". the news said a low of 38 tonight which is low enough it makes the news. anything above 100 or below 40 is out of range enough to make the news
@Viss Wow… I figured that might be the case, but nonetheless it’s weird to me. See the outside temperature here three years and a couple weeks ago. That’s not how it is all the time, but it typically gets below -20 at least once each winter here.

@thomasareed this part of the country is built expecting a specific temp window, and when the temp gets outside of that window shit goes bad fast. its all a bit weenie, given how bad other places have it, but other places probably expect the sorta weather they get most of the time and are prepared

@Viss Yup, we’re all discombobulated here due to having temps in the 40s in January, because it’s way too warm and the skiing sucks. Plus low snow cover is going to be a bitch this summer. Gonna be a bad fire season here, I fear. Different expectations.

@Viss ah dang. Maybe next time. We have some folks here who’ve never been to Vegas before and I tried to bring them to the strip to check it out. Then someone set up a reservation at the tiki bar and there I went!

In quel di Novara si usava dire fin verso gli '80 "teròn magna savòn" per riferirsi ai meridionali che non si lavavano e che preferivano mangiarselo il sapone invece di utilizzarlo. Quindi, sporchi e ignoranti.
Mio padre opponeva a questi epiteti il fatto che lui al suo paese del sud aveva il bagno in casa, mentre gli appartamenti che davano in affitto ai terroni non ce l'avevano e lui i primi tempi era costretto ad andare ai bagni pubblici per lavarsi... 🤷

@fucinafibonacci @attualita tutte misure inutili, ricordo che Hobsbawm trattò nel Secolo breve l'argomento. Da quello che ricordo quando c'erano cali di natalità nessuna misura era in grado di cambiare le cose.
Sembra quasi che le popolazioni si autoregolino in base alla popolazione.
