my feeling is that some people are extremely allergic to saying or writing insults
so they intentionally misspell, or ***, just as an effort at disassociating themselves from the horribleness of writing an insult
i don't have a problem with writing fuck fuck fuckity fuck for example
but plenty of people do have a squeamishness about it and a little extra padding between their intent and their actual words makes them feel better about it
