@BTylerCohen keep in mind that there is no algorithmic discovery here, so people are the algorithm here. Being aggressive with following, hashtags and participating in discussions is necessary to build a following here. I would also recommend checking out @loops, which is a new Fediverse app that interfaces with @Mastodon for short-form video.

@BTylerCohen Yeah that's somewhat possible here. When making a Post (also sometimes called "Toots" 😊) you can set the visibility to "Private mention".
