Welcome on board the brand-new Railjet Express from Zurich to Bratislava.
Yes it's not quite your regular Railjet, the previous incoming one was too much delayed so they made it turn around at the Swiss border & SBB organized a replacement regional train to avoid cascading delays. It's packed and not as comfortable as the original for the first hour, but I bet passengers will appreciate being on schedule. ๐ฏ

Happy to report we've found the OG Railjet across the platform. ๐๐ No bicycle for me today but I've headed to the bicycle zone at the end of the train as nobody dared venturing that far before me.

It's certainly sad to see mountain peaks deprived of snow in this time of year, although the frost brings a picturesque contrast where the sunlight doesn't venture. #Interrail #Austria

Just after Innsbruck the speed takes off as we swift by at 220km/h, through the tunnel that will serve as access to the Brenner basis tunnel.
Rest assured that this won't last long though: Bahnland Bavaria is ahead of us! (That's right, Autobahnland. ๐ Also, brace yourselves for no signal. ๐ต๐)

The train was less busy from Innsbruck: many people left, and we attached to a second Railjet until Vienna. So nobody bothered using the very last carriage. I left in Salzburg just as a bicycle joined the party ๐ cc @plactagonic
Also, it's nice to be greeted at a train station by a pedestrian square and public transport rather than a highway and army of parked taxis. ๐ฏ
