What started as a Tumblr alternative has grown into an active and vibrant community ✨
Even growing beyond that to welcome former Cohost users with the ability to import your Cohost export into wafrn
One more thing, wafrn supports native ATproto/BlueSky federation.
Ya, they did ActivityPub and ATproto at the same time, before it was cool.

@dansup WAFRN is a fantastic environment: as rubbery as Misskey, but (almost) as versatile as Friendica, and it works great with both Lemmy and NodeBB groups. The integration with Bluesky was truly brilliant.
Now, however, we need anyone interested in WAFRN to support this project by funding it and creating new instances (and without putting too much pressure on @gabboman and the development staff).

@aeva I suggest a law that any device not under the control of who purchased it should apply an electric shock to the balls/clit/whatever of whoever decided the loss of control the whole time while someone liberates their data. Minimum energy transmitted should be fixed at what one dollar can buy in electricity per second.

the ETA briefly popped up to 8 hours and then slowly drifted back down to 2.5 hours. I guess the windows file copy dialog author got poached by the android team at some point.

ah, transferring files and accounts and stuff between phones is done via the "google app" now, and my old phone supports that. looks like it'll take about 3 hours to bring everything over via bluetooth 💀
