@researchfairy my hope is not enough linux users have working GPU drivers for it to be viable, but i wouldn't put it past gnome to insist on burning all your CPU time on it with llvmpipe "as a fallback"

@aeva @researchfairy There was a release of Ubuntu about 15 years ago that had windows that jiggled while you dragged them on by default. The temptation is real.

@jkaniarz @aeva @researchfairy okay I never saw this on by default, but I did have a ton of fun with Compiz and it kinda blew me away how much more options there were than Windows. I could make virtual rain or have fire particles trail from my cursor. Definitely don't make these things defaults, but having them as options is pretty cool. I even wrote a little script to listen to a microphone and trigger the desktop rain effect when I whistled the Song of Storms from Ocarina of Time...

@tiotasram @jkaniarz @researchfairy that's amazing. compiz was great fun, but compiz was also something you had to go out of your way to install

@dotstdy @researchfairy I do sometimes miss having a little button on my computer that turns on fire when the mood calls for it...
