I am writing a little website that lets you do a ranked-voting polls. I wanted to do some sort of test poll before I let people create actual accounts. My plan was to do a "best Star Wars movie" poll, as it's a set of nine things that wide groups have opinions on. But I don't really feel like celebrating Disney's media ownership right now.
What else could I poll?
(I AM intending to do a ranked-choice poll of "best ranked choice voting system", which I think will kill on Mastodon, but not bsky)

@mcc Best Young Adult Fantasy novels
The genre is so saturated right now, new readers don't want to jump in and existing ones are kinda jaded (YA novels are for everybody, after all). There are nuggets of gold out there, but few know of them or feel like getting their feet wet

@ChateauErin I think I've used that. The two things I'm aiming for are
- Calculate multiple different vote processing methods
- Limit participation via fediverse or bsky

capisco ma ho qualche perplessità. dipende sempre che livello di discussione si vuole avere e dall'attitudine degli interlocutori. per dire, sia qui che fuori dalla rete, tendo a selezionare gli argomenti e il tipo di discussione in relazione a persone e situazione. dei temi che ho studiato e approfondito molto di solito non discuto con chi si limita a chiacchiere da bar o robe tipo "ho visto su internet che..." pretendendo di collocarsi sullo stesso piano (anche perché fatti=/opinioni e su questo si tende a fare molta confusione) mentre sui temi di cui so poco o nulla, di solito dico che ne se poca per discuterne ed esprimere un parere. di sicuro uno strumento come il fediverso, pur fuori da logiche commerciali, non si presta bene a discussioni di qualità.
