I need an app that will make decisions for me.

Example; do I take the 08:00 train or the 10:00 train to Berlin?
It's the ICE train with a punctuality grade of 62.5%, meaning over a third were late. Aka the 10:00 train is risky. But the 08:00 train is early and my hotel is in a completely uninteresting part of Berlin, aka there's a good chance I'll just be in my hotel room for a few hours until dinner, so I might as well sleep in.

@Gina As you're passing through main station, there are a few things to explore around that in the unlikely (😅) event that the train is on time.

@MisterMaker Thanks this was very useful 🤣

@odrotbohm I don't think I am. I'm going to Spandau and then taking a small train from there to the south-west.

@Gina in situations like this, I always lean towards prudence, so the 8am train. Yes, you may be stuck in your hotel room for a while, but isn't it better than having to run/rush, travel sweaty/flustered, and possibly miss the time you have to get there entirely?

@Gina I really wish that would exist.
Especially for traveling. How many hours I wasted looking for the good combination ...

@themipper I understand the value of assistants now.

@Gina in that case, do you /need/ (or want) to be in Berlin?

@Gina in that case, do you /need/ (or want) to be in Berlin?
@jorijn /need/ unfortunately. BTW this is only the heenreis, I haven't even looked at the way back yet which includes fun decisions like "do I want to stay an extra day? Will I be able to get away with booking an hour flight instead of an 8 hr train ride?"

@Gina the real question is: Can you afford to be delayed?
If no -> Early train
If yes -> Late train
Waiting for a few hours at the destination is better than being stressed out about being too late IMHO -

@Gina Ik heb net teveel ervaring met DB om op de 10:00-uur-trein te vertrouwen.

@mahryekuh Same, ik ben voor de 08:00 optie gegaan.

Alright went with the 08:00 one, which is probably wise considering anything Deutsche Bahn related.
Now the question is; do I stay a day longer and try to see if I can catch a flight back (against policy) or do I leave on the day after the conference via train?
Not sure if Berlin is interesting enough for a day of exploring, considering I'd never want to move there.

@Gina for my work trips, I really don't stay long because I get too tired, Berlin is nice with friends to hang out with though
