Mohammed lives in Gaza, so he’s spent the last 2 years of his life in a war zone. His family gets displaced repeatedly, their life’s on a standstill. He’s one of the bravest, kindest, smartest people I know, I’m immensely proud to be his friend.

Oh, shit, I gotta go vote. We don't really have anything exciting to vote for, but there is a bail "reform" amendment I want to go vote against, and probably want to vote against some the various tax shelter for rich people amendments, too. (The former is Texas Ballot item 3, "Denial of Bail for Certain Violent or Sexual Offenses Punishable as a Felony Amendment", and most of the other amendments are tax prohibitions, including one that's a huge handout for one category of farmer.)
