@Rickd6 the energy industry runs Texas state government. So, naturally, the grid is old, poorly maintained, and not weatherized against extreme weather, so it is very sensitive to storms. It is also isolated from the nationwide grid.A little rain often takes out power in localized areas. My neighborhood has short outages all the time. But a big storm really does a number on the whole system. They didn't build for climate change because that would cut into profits.
