@quincy oh yeah it accelerated very quickly. I put the threshold at around 2013 because that was when it went public, and interestingly it was also around the time where “smartphone” usage started getting dominant, spearheading the “app-ification” of Internet services, which shifted control even more aggressively away from the users and into the hands of the companies.
