Soooo, following the pretty large #Green win we've just seen, is the government going to do the decent thing, which is to march the whole of the Home Office into the sea, and do what's the standard everywhere else: give immigration to the Economy, which can at least be counted on to not try to kill the country to appease the racists?

Seriously #Labour, you only needed to be moderately not racist.

@iinavpov I was asked by a seemingly intelligent British person if I needed a visa to visit the UK. This was in 1998. The CTA has only existed since 1923 so maybe he was a bit slow. My point is that the UK has always been ignorant about the outside world unless they can control it and change it

If all of these immigrants are leaving jobs at care homes and hospitals, that means the phrase "coming over here and taking our jobs" no longer applies. So where are they all when these jobs are now there for the taking?

@Gillinger @iinavpov The fash have been using that slogan as long as I can remember, since the 70s—it was a lie then, and it's a lie today. (Hint: immigrants *create* jobs.)
