as far as the actual serious considerations wrt Empio dirò tu sei are, what makes it in some regards even more challenging than Cessa di più resistere is that the baroque style calls for all the notes in the coloratura to be super clearly articulated. if i could do that shit in a single smooth line it'd be a cakewalk

i have found interviews with her in which she discusses community outreach and introducing high school students to opera. im imagining her smacking teenagers with a ruler if they dare to try to sing along with any opera she's trying to teach them about. what i think is more likely is that she tolerates amateur efforts that come with self flagellation, so she is fine with some teenager trying to sing and being embarrassed about it; what is actually pissing her off is that i am not sufficiently visibly ashamed of what im doing

in truth i do feel silly about pretty much everything but if i preface each post with "i am aware i am exposing my lack of skill and the sense of vulnerability that results is uncomfortable" it'd get tiresome real fast

i still think the funniest complaint i got from Kallen is when i did a video in which i claimed i was going to perform Ecco Ridente exactly as it was performed at the premiere of the Barber of Seville; I then act surprised when I discover one of the strings on my guitar is broken, and the video cuts out (this is indeed the manner in which Ecco Ridente was performed, or better said, not performed, at the premiere) she apparently thought this was a legit unexpected fuck up and scolded me

it should be obvious that if my intention was to do a video of myself playing the guitar, if i had recorded a video of myself hyping up what i was about to play then discovering one of the strings was broken, i would not post that video, i would replace the string and do another take. but no, it was taken by her to be the same as an unintended snafu during a live broadcast. this is how the boomer mind works
