Doctor: I’m not sure what’s going on

Doctor: I’m not sure what’s going on.
Me: So, time to send Olivia Wilde and Kal Penn to break into my house to search for drugs, toxins and mould, while gossiping about their colleagues’ sex lives?
Doctor: Nah. I think we’ll do a bone marrow biopsy.
Me: It was worth a try.@gregeganSF that sounds unpleasant. I hope you get to sleep through it.

Assuming you're making light of a reality (and it *was* funny), my sympathies that you have to do a bone marrow biopsy. Good luck on *everything*! -

Thanks for the chuckle and memories of watching House.
Hope everything is good from the test results. -

Me: It was worth a try.I was a bit stressed before the biopsy, because I thought I remembered reading horror stories about how excruciating this procedure is ... but maybe that’s only much larger extractions for bone marrow transplants, because (with just local anaesthetic) this small biopsy was close to painless.

@gregeganSF That's good news. Now we wait for more news, hopefully of the good sort.
(Related: I was given Fentanyl and a benzodiazepene last time I had a biopsy, so I was away with the fairies!)

@gregeganSF *All* procedures that involve needles can be painful if they hit a pain nerve on the way in—but they're very much better at avoiding other causes of pain these days.
(Must admit that I'm not looking forward to be stabbed in the eye in (checks calendar) 15 days, even though I already had it done to the other eye and was painless-at-the-time (sore cornea afterwards).)

@gregeganSF
Glad it went well and was relatively painless. -

@gregeganSF that's my experience with bone marrow biopsy -- it's mostly just really uncomfortable, because they need to press really hard, but not painful. It seems that nowadays they don't need to extract much to do the lab analysis, and hence can use smaller needles.
