Hmm, there is a festival going on here in Palermo.

"Palermo is preparing to unveil its most secret treasures once again with the eagerly awaited return of ‘Le Vie dei Tesori’ (The Streets of Treasures). From 10 October to 16 November 2025, the nineteenth edition of the festival will open the doors of 85 usually inaccessible places, offering citizens and tourists a unique opportunity to discover the city's historical and artistic heritage from new perspectives."

Wonder if all interesting things are already fully booked, will have to check. Pity that I didn't read about it already this morning, might have visited some of those places.

But even if that page is available in English, the site with all the locations listed is only in Italian, so I fear all instructions and guiding will also be only in Italian, so yeah. And I have other stuff to do. Will certainly go out for a walk, though. It's weird that this apartment is so chilly, probably around 18 degrees, even if the outside temperature is 24 degrees. and the sun is shining.. one can easily be misled to put on needlessly warm clothing.

I did buy a ticket for four visits to Le Vie dei Tesori places, and then picked four places that I came across in the centre. It was a bit of hit-and-miss. One was quite interesting, one a bit less, one was in theory interesting but not so much in practice, and one was downright boring. Won't name and shame, though. And of course, if I knew Italian, I would have learned more from the guided tours. (In one place the guide did do it in both Italian and English.)
